Episode 46- Are you positioned as a Global Expert in your niche?

Expert positioning is simply vital when it comes to scaling your coaching programmes online.
Why? Because it is 2022. There are so many options out there for your ideal client. There are red waters and you must stand out from the masses.
So, a question that I always love to ask new clients is - would you buy from you?
There are many components to consider in relation to Expert positioning.
The first is Visibility - why? Because even if we have the best coaching programme in the world, if we aren’t putting ourselves out there, if we are choosing to remain hidden, we quite simply won’t ever be able to scale our businesses.
There are a few things to consider in relation to visibility - one is to nail one platform before moving to another. I see so many trying to be on all of them in the early days and then they end up burning out and spinning out of the game. With the narrative that ‘my ideal client isn’t on X platform.’
So make sure you get proof of concept of your messaging on one platform before moving to another.
Then onto content, You must speak to the pain of your audience - showing them that you truly understand, that you truly get it. Not speaking in generalities but to the specifics of what the pain looks like and feels like to them.
It is also important to speak to the mistakes that they need to watch out for. This does two things, it provides value for them so that they don’t fall into the same traps and also, it demonstrates that you have the solution to that mistake.
Then moving on to your unique methodology, again, you quite simply must have a unique methodology. And it must be positioned as the only solution that they need to solve their problem.
Next, it is important to consider image and style - not in the ‘influencer’ type way, but more in relation to how you are showing up online - are you showing up as a global expert, or a crazy cat lady?
And how are you ensuring that your image and style and presence online are matched with your brand values?
Next, you want to consider carefully the external publications that you are featured in, the podcasts that you appear on, the media mentions that you get - again, rather than go for ‘spray and pray,’ choose your publications wisely.
Then it is important to look at the consistency of your message. Our ideal clients are at different stages of their journeys and we must meet them where they are. So we must be consistent and getting to the stage where we are bored listening to ourselves saying the same thing is a must! Because it might be the tenth time you say something, that your ideal client is ready to hear it.
Lastly, we need to ensure that our descriptions and bios, etc online are crystal clear - i.e. there is no room for confusion over who we serve. So, when an ideal client lands on your profile, are they saying oh my goodness that is me?!
